Doctoral students will deepen their knowledge of basic disciplines (Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics theories, Mathematical Analysis in Economics) and Economics and Management in Civil Engineering (Innovations and Special Technologies, Economics and Strategy of Contracting Company, Value Engineering, Risk Simulation and Construction Management, Project Management and Facility Management, etc.). According to their orientation the candidates will choose the focus of their research on construction management, investment projects, use of mathematical models in civil engineering, and so on.

Risk management is essential to construction activities in minimizing losses and enhancing profitability. Construction risk is generally perceived as events that influence project objectives of cost, time and quality. Risk analysis and management in construction depend mainly on intuition, judgment and experience. Quantitative methods and IT support is prefared in formulation and solutions of management problems.

The graduate of the Ph.D. programme can be employed in practice in construction companies in management positions that require in-depth technical and economic knowledge in relation to construction management, construction economics and management of construction companies. Further the graduate can act in such fields as investment financing, expert activities, assessments of large and complex technical and economic projects.
