July 1999

POINT The following represents the latest in a series of short monthly updates outlining activities and progress on the CME 03601-CZ, to be distributed directly to the partners within the project, and to be made available to all other interested parties, whether from the partner institutions involved, other academic institutions, and/or industry or non academic bodies

1. Logistical issues / timetable restructuring

The main development during this month has been that financial transactions necessary for the continuation of the project have now begun to take place, with funds being transferred into appropriate areas for the provision of staff costs, overheads, and mobility allowances. It is envisaged that next month will see the planned exchanges and visits taking place, according to the revised schedule (i.e. the visits originally scheduled for taking place in April and May will now commence at the start of August).

2. Data Collection and analysis

The data collection for the project has now been suspended due to the summer break at the two Czech universities. The results and progress of the data collection are in the meantime being reviewed and evaluated by Dr.Jones and Dr.Bauer, with several other approaches for increasing the amount and use of information for the project currently being considered. A substantial amount of information has now been collected, following this uninterrupted four-month data collection phase. This data is currently being analysed and will be re-presented as a series of reference tables detailing activities, expertise, and specialist interests of staff at the two Czech university sites. This information will be included on the project web pages following the visit of Dr.Jones to the Czech Republic during early August.

Next month is: August
