The Dean´s Directive for Master Degree Study Admission Procedure at FCE CTU in Prague

Public announcement of the admission procedure to follow-up Master degree study programmes organised by the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague in the 2013/2014 academic year

 

This Directive complements The Conditions for Admission to Study in follow-up Master Degree Study programmes Implemented at the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague in the 2013/2014 Academic Year (hereinafter "Conditions for Admission to Study").

 

I. LIST OF MASTER DEGREE STUDY PROGRAMMES AND BRANCHES

follow-ups to Bachelor degree study programmes

 

The Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague hereby opens the admission procedure for the 2013/2014 academic year to the following follow-up Master degree study programmes and branches:

The only type of study in all study programmes at FCE is   f u l l - t i m e   study.

 

II. IMPORTANT DEADLINES

 

Date for submitting applications for study31st March 2013
The date for sending Enclosures No. 1 and No. 2 specified in Art. V for applicants who had not completed Bachelor study by the date of submitting their applications (not applicable to current students in Bachelor study programmes at FCE CTU) and dates for sending Enclosures No. 4, 5, 6 specified in Art. V for applicants who did not have the respective documents available at the application submission date:4th July 2013

If an applicant submits the application by post, the date of submitting/sending it is the date of posting stamped on the envelope. Applications may also be handed in personally to the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU, the Faculty filing room (box marked: Applications for Master Study), or to the Student Registrar´s Office, Room No. C116a situated in the Faculty entrance atrium by 2 p.m. on 29.3.2013.

 

III. SELECTION OF STUDY PROGRAMME AND BRANCH OF STUDY

 

The applicant may submit one or more application forms for Master degree study at FCE CTU. The number of applications is not limited.

Only one application form may be submitted for one study programme.
In the case of submitting more application forms for different study programmes, each application form must be supplied with all compulsory enclosures and the administration fee must be settled for each application form.

The order of preference of application forms for different study programmes:
In the case of submitting more applications, the applicant shall mark the order of preference of the application forms in the database. The decision on admission or non-admission to a respective study programme pursuant to The Conditions for Admission to Study will be sent to the applicant for each submitted application. In the case of inserting the second and further application in the database, the order of preference may be edited for each application form submitted so far.

The order of the preference of branches of study within an application form for one study programme:
One to three branches of study
may be chosen in one application form for a study programme, and the order of their preference, which becomes obligatory after the closing of an application, must be indicated. The applicant is only admitted to one branch of study in the order of his/her preferences marked in the application form.

In branches of study including specialisations, the applicant shall choose one of the offered specialisations.

 

IV. PROCEDURE OF SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS FOR STUDY

 

  • Fill in the CTU electronic application form at the website prihlaska.cvut.cz. (applications may be inserted in the database from 1.1.2013 to 31.3.2013).
  • Print the application form and sign it. Attention: no application is registered without sending the printed copy.
  • Settle the administration fee for costs related to the admission procedure amounting to 500,- Kč / for each submitted application form in one of the ways specified below.
  • Send the printed and signed application form together with compulsory enclosures by post at the Faculty address (preferably by registered letter) or hand it in personally to the Faculty filing room (box marked: Applications for Master Study). Administrative fee in the admission procedure:

Kč 500,- is sent to the following account:

Banking fees related to the transfer of the fee to the Faculty bank account are paid by the applicant.
The administration fee for the admission procedure cannot be returned in any case.
The Faculty postal order is available at the Faculty Student Registrar.

 

V. ENCLOSURES TO APPLICATIONS FOR STUDY

(must be supplied with each submitted application form)

 

  1. An authenticated copy of the Bachelor degree diploma or a certificate of a successful completion of Bachelor degree study issued by the Faculty. This is not applicable to applicants who currently study at FCE CTU.
  2. A certified copy of the diploma supplement or certificates issued by the Faculty containing the following data: a) transcript of all completed courses, including the evaluation grades and the number of credit units obtained in individual courses b) weighted study average achieved in the Bachelor degree study specified pursuant to Art. 5 of The Conditions for Admission to Study c) results of the state graduation examination in the Bachelor degree study. This is not applicable to applicants who currently study at FCE CTU.
  3. A proof of payment of the administration fee for the admission procedure in the case of payment by postal order.
  4. An authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition or validation of the Bachelor degree diploma in the case that the applicant completed Bachelor degree study at a college abroad (not applicable to applicants from the Slovak Republic).
  5. Foreign citizens (excluding applicants from the Slovak Republic) applying for study in a study programme in Czech shall certify their readiness to study in Czech language by submitting one of the following certificates: a) a certificate of passing the school-leaving examination in Czech b) a certificate of a state examination in Czech c) a certificate of passing an examination in Czech at min. a B2 level according to the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" at the Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies CTU (www.muvs.cvut.cz) or at the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies Charles University (www.ujop.cuni.cz).
  6. Applicants for study in the study programme in English shall certify their readiness to study in English language by submitting one of the following certificates: a) a certificate of completion of a Bachelor degree study programme in English b) a certificate of a school-leaving or state examination in English c) a certificate of passing an examination in English at min. a B2 level according to the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages".

 

VI. PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT OF ADMISSION PROCEDURE RESULTS

 

The lists of admitted and non-admitted applicants will be displayed on the official Faculty Board and on the Faculty web site no later than by 19. 8. 2013 together with information on registration for Master degree study. The decision on admission or non-admission to study will be subsequently sent to the applicants in writing. The applicant may apply for a review of this decision in writing within 30 days after the delivery of the decision.
