Anotace(semestr )
Flow of real liquid (mathematical modelling, Navier-Stokes equations, turbulence). Dimensional analysis and dynamic similarity. Unsteady flow (waves and transients). Flow structure and velocity distribution. Flow around solid bodies (boundary layer, wake). Solid particles in quiescent and flowing liquid. Non-Newtonian flow. Flow in pump-pipeline systems. Wastewater hydraulics. Hydraulics of water structures.
Obsah 
1. Survey of fundamentals of civil engineering- and environmental hydraulics: fluid properties, flow regimes, flow resistance.
2. Mathematical modelling of fluid flow: basic concepts and methods. Conservation of mass, momentum and energy.
3. Navier-Stokes equations.
4. Turbulence: features, parameters, measurements. Turbulent models for CFD.
5. Physical modelling of fluid flow: flow experiments, dimensional analysis, theory of model similitude.
6. Unsteady flow in open channels: rapidly varied flows (surges) and gradually varied flows. St Venant equations.
7. Unsteady flow in pressurized pipes: pressure surge, surge control.
8. Boundary layer theory - velocity distribution in pipe and channel, separation, drag and lift.
9. Solid-liquid flow: mixture properties, grain settling velocity, classification of mixture flow, energy loss in two-phase flow,
transport of sediment.
10. Non-Newtonian flow: rheology, energy loss in laminar flow and in turbulent flow of non-Newtonians.
11. Pump-pipeline systems: characteristics of centrifugal pumps and of pipelines, pumps in parallel and in series, pumping of
mixtures.
12. Wastewater hydraulics: hydraulic design of distribution channels, sewer side weirs, manholes and drop shafts.
13. Hydraulics of water structures: hydraulic design of locks, spillways, and energy dissipators.
