The nominated candidate for the Dean´s position at the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague, Prof. Ing. Petr Konvalinka, CSc., FEng., was elected by the Faculty Academic Senate on Wednesday 22nd October 2025. After his appointment to office, he will replace Prof. Ing. Jiří Máca, CSc., FEng., whose second term of office ends on 31 January 2026.
“My priority is to increase the Faculty´s and CTU´s prestige, significantly boost its educational activities with a focus on modern approaches to learning and greater use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, increase the number of top-grade applicants for study and work in close cooperation with industrial partners. I will emphasize communication, greater departmental collaboration and interdisciplinarity in the Faculty management. I will strive for greater involvement of the academic staff in national, but, above all, international research projects and the establishment of start-ups. I want to develop the Faculty as a respected institute with a focus on cooperation with prominent Czech and foreign institutions,“ says Prof. Petr Konvalinka presenting his intentions.
