Experimental Center

I am a professor at the Experimental Centre of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, and Director of the National Centre for Construction 4.0 (NCS 4.0) at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC CTU).

My research targets advanced construction materials, digitalization, and construction robotics that improve the safety, resilience, and sustainability of buildings. I develop and test special concretes for extreme loads such as impact, blast, and dynamic mechanical stress, linking fundamental ateriál science with real-world applications and automated/robotic construction methods.

I have led or co-led numerous national and international projects, producing widely cited journal publications and 15 patents granted in the Czech Republic and the United States. As a member of the Government’s Civil Engineering advisory body, I help shape national R&D priorities and promote smart materials, automation, and robotics in construction.

Ing. Petr Hála, Ph.D.

My research centers on the development of protective structures and energy-absorbing cellular systems, encompassing their design, fabrication, and performance evaluation. I also investigate the resistance of laminated glass and cementitious composite panels to low- and high-velocity impacts, as well as blast loading. My work integrates advanced experimental techniques with high-fidelity numerical modeling to ensure robust, reliable outcomes.
