Abstract(semestr B232)
The course focuses on general understanding and conceptual design of hydraulic structures. Within the first part of the course, students will learn fundamentals of design and management of reservoirs, weirs on rivers and navigation structures, including locks and lifts. Second part of the course provides in depth view to dam engineering and hydropower. The course is suitable for both master and bachelor degree students and assumes basic knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology. The course is natural extension of the course Water and Environmental Engineering in terms of design and operation of hydraulic structures.
Content
The content of the course is the presentation of typical hydraulic structure and structures as engineering objects designed by appropriate procedures resulting in a specific construction and technological design and description of the structure.
