RESEARCH AND INNOVATIONS IN RESPONSE TO FUTURE CHALLENGES

Our society is facing increased pressure on water resources due to climate change, land use changes, urban population growth and the need to protect the environment. Ensuring enough water supply for the population, agriculture, industry and ecosystems and adaptation to the increased variability of water occurrence over time and space are among the major challenges for the present and the near future.

These challenges can be met with the help of scientific research and innovation in the field of water management and water structures. The main goal of the programme is to prepare leading experts who, by means of deep knowledge and systematic research, will be able to push the boundaries of knowledge and apply the latest research achievements to address the above and upcoming challenges.
