Lifelong learning is an important component of the University‘s educational activity. There are many options of gaining professional knowledge in specific branches of study available at the Faculty in addition to full-time studies.
The applicants may take the opportunity of preparing for the entrance examinations by attending official courses organized by the Faculty.

Within these courses, the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague enables anybody interested to take selected individual courses taught in the Bachelor or Master Degree studies and that according to the applicant’s own choice. Participants may attend the course even without taking the final credit test or examination.
Some departments of the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague have prepared other comprehensive courses for those interested in lifelong learning. In this way, they respond to the participants’ interest in extending their professional career options. The courses reflect the current issues and trends in the building industry.
U3A is an educational programme aimed at 60+ participants from the general public. These courses offer a variety of interesting and useful topics contributing to the participant’s personal development in the area of technical and natural sciences (e.g. historic bridges, optical illusions and other “magic deceptions” in mathematics), or architecture and culture (e.g. Prague’s historical heritage). Thus, U3A students may also get an insight into the branches they did not have the opportunity to develop during their professional life, extending the horizon of their knowledge and interests at a higher age. Another benefit is networking with other course participants and sharing common experiences.

The lifelong learning opportunities offered by the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague may also be used by the Doctoral Degree students. Based on an agreement between CTU in Prague, the Faculty of Civil Engineering (hereinafter FCE), Charles University, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (hereinafter FMP), Charles University, the Faculty of Science (hereinafter FS), and the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (hereinafter FES), the Doctoral Degree students at FMP, FS and FES can attend individual courses of study taught at FCE, and the Doctoral Degree students at FCE can attend the courses taught at FMP, FS and FES.
This refers to the completion of individual courses within Doctoral Degree studies according to the student’s own choice.
