Master's study programmes

All information related to admissions proceedings can be found in Conditions for Admission to Study and the Dean’s Directive. These are the two most relevant documents summarizing the conditions and the admissions process to Master’s study programmes taught in the English language at the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague.

What to do

  • The application is filed 1. 1. – 31. 3. 2026 electronically via the electronic application app.
  • Save your code and password. Successively, you will be able to follow the process of your admissions proceedings directly in the electronic application app. 
  • The areas of study you can choose from can be found here.
  • If you apply to more study programmes, a new application must be filled in for each of them.

  • The admission fee at FCE CTU in Prague is CZK 950, approximately EUR 38. The fee has to be paid by 31 March 2026 at the latest. The application will be included in the admission process only after payment of this fee.

 

  • Pay the application fee by payment card or QR code – your application is included in the admission process immediately (payment processing is fast). We recommend paying the fee by payment card. Card payments are possible via an electronic application app.

 

  • Payment can also be made by bank transfer – it will take a few working days to process the transfer payment. The application will be included in the admission process only after payment has been processed by the university.

  • Bank charges are always paid by the applicant (also applies to applicants from the Slovak Republic).
  • The applicants are recommended to fill in their name and date of birth in the “Notice for payer and beneficiary” (AV field) to identify the payer in the applicant’s payment order.
  • In the case that you are submitting more applications, the administration fee must be paid for each of them separately.
  • The date of entering the bank transfer by the applicant is considered as the date of the administration fee payment.

  • Entrance examination: 20. – 22. 5. 2026 (you will see the specific date in your electronic application in the “Assignment to Dates” three weeks before the exam).
  • The entrance examination consists of a written test in branch-oriented thematic areas (see the annex to the Dean’s Directive).

  • For applicants who completed their study in a related Bachelor degree branch of study at FCE in the 2025/2026 or 2024/2025 academic year, their oral examinations in thematic areas of the state graduation examination will be recognized as the results of their study the entrance examination. The number of points for the entrance examination will be specified as the average of the point evaluation of the examinations in thematic areas.
  • Gain the minimum number of points for the entrance examination necessary for admission to study.
  • Upon written request, the entrance examination may be waived by the Dean to foreign citizens (excluding applicants from the Slovak Republic) who apply for study in the study programme of Civil Engineering and certify their corresponding knowledge of English in the application form.
  • These applicants will receive a written decision on admission to study after they have uploaded school-leaving certificate (as a scan document), or a certificate of its recognition if it was passed abroad or a nostrification of the school-leaving certificate from abroad.
  • The applicants whose written entrance examination has not been waived will be invited to the entrance examination by registered letter no later than three weeks before the examination date.

Each applicant will be informed about the entrance examination result on the day of taking the examination or the following day after the examination in the database prihlaska.cvut.cz.

  • For applicants who completed their Bachelor study in  Civil Engineering in English at FCE in the 2025/2026 or 2024/2025 academic year, their oral examinations in thematic areas of the state graduation examination will be recognized as the results of their study the entrance examination. The number of points for the entrance examination will be specified as the average of the point evaluation of the examinations in thematic areas.

 

  • For applicants who did not complete their study at FCE, the entrance examination consists of a written test in branch-oriented thematic areas:

  • Gain the minimum number of points 40 for the entrance examination necessary for admission to study. Maximum number of points: 100.

 

  • Each applicant will be informed about the entrance examination result on the day of taking the examination or the following day after the examination in the database prihlaska.cvut.cz.

No documents need to be uploaded.

Required documents (deadline: 31 March 2026)

C) Certificate of successful completion of Bachelor’s studies, or an authenticated copy of the Bachelor diploma.

 

D) Transcript of all completed Bachelor courses, including:

  • number of credits
  • achieved grades

 

E) Certificate of the study weighted average for all completed courses,
calculated according to Art. 12 of the Study and Examination Rules of CTU.

 

F) Certificate with the grade for the defence of the Bachelor Project.

 

G) Authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition or validation of the Bachelor degree diploma(also referred to as nostrification) – the document must be submitted only in an electronically verified format, i.e. in the form of an authorised conversion of a paper document or bearing a valid electronic signature issued by the issuing institution. This refers to applicants who completed their Bachelor degree studies outside the Czech or Slovak Republic. The nostrification means that your study up to now is at the same level as the Bachelor degree study in the Czech Republic.
This nostrification is provided by CTU Rector’s Office. The nostrification process may take up to 30 days.

 

H) Certificate proving English proficiency (one of the following):

  • completion of a Bachelor programme taught in English
  • exam in English at minimum B2 level (CEFR)
  • school-leaving or state examination in English

Required documents (deadline: 31 March 2026)

 

A) Confirmation of current enrolment in a Bachelor programme, including programme name and specialisation.

 

B) Current transcript of completed courses.

 

Additional documents (deadline: 1 July 2026)

 

C) Certificate of successful completion of Bachelor’s studies, or an authenticated copy of the Bachelor diploma.

 

D) Transcript of all completed Bachelor courses, including:

  • number of credits
  • achieved grades

 

E) Certificate of the study weighted average for all completed courses,
calculated according to Art. 12 of the Study and Examination Rules of CTU.

 

F) Certificate with the grade for the defence of the Bachelor Project.

Must upload required documents and representative works related to the field by 31 March 2026 (see Entrance Exam).

No Certificate of Health is required for applications to the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE).

Upload by 31st March 2026:

    • Up-to-date certificate of study in a Bachelor degree study programme, including the name of the programme and the branch.
    • Up-to-date transcript of courses completed in the Bachelor degree study programme, including the number of credit points and the evaluation grade achieved for individual courses.
    • Applicants for the study programme in Buildings and Environment shall upload any of their branch-related representative works (Bachelor Project, year project, seminar project, competition project, etc.). See the details  Dean´s Directive – Article 3, part 2J.

Upload these attachments (see the document Dean´s Directive for important dates):

    • Certificate of successful completion of Bachelor degree study, or an authenticated copy of the Bachelor degree diploma.
    • Transcript of all courses completed in Bachelor degree study, including the number of credit points and the evaluation grade achieved for individual courses.

Certificate confirming excellent proficiency in English – refers to applicants for study in English: 

    • certificate of completion of a Bachelor degree study programme taught in English,
    • certificate of passing the school-leaving or state examination in English,
    • certificate of passing an examination in English at min. a B2 level according to the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages”.
  • No enclosures are enclosed to application forms submitted by the applicants who attend Bachelor degree study at the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague or who have completed their Bachelor degree study there.
  • No “Certificate of Health” is required as an enclosure to the application to FCE.

Deadline for electronic registration for enrollment in the first year of master’s studies 1 June – 16 September 2026 byelectronic application.

 

Enrollment deadline for the first year of master’s studies – enrollment takes place in person at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, only for students who have been accepted for study and registered for enrollment:

  • 2 July 2026
  • 9 September 2026
  • 16 September 2026

 

Signing the contract: upon enrollment

The tuition fee for the first semester of study is due on 21 September 2026 (students will receive payment information upon enrollment).

The start of the academic year, i.e. the first day of school is 21 September 2026
