Renovated lecture halls

The Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague has completed a comprehensive renovation of its two largest lecture halls. The new lightweight perimeter cladding with its colour palette and used materials follows the building modifications of a part of the Faculty carried out in the past making the original abstract plastic stone mosaic by Martin Sladký at the front of the lecture halls stand out. The interior itself has undergone a dramatic transformation and, due to its glazed side walls transmitting a substantial amount of light, it was possible to design the inside as a black box. The most attractive element of the lecture halls is the high-performance sound-absorbing Glasio acoustic cladding made of black crystal glass, which gives the place a minimalist technical appearance. It is a Czech patent by the Aveton Company.

The total cost was CZK 85.069 million, and the contractor was the VW Wachal Company.
